Christmas and the end of the year

We put our tree up at the end of November and now it is down. It is a relief. It is tiring having to constantly put things back on the tree and make sure Lucy isn’t going to eat any of the ornaments. One day I caught her with a gingerbread ornament. She was quite enjoying that one. It probably tasted better than the beads or metal ornaments. Gregory also likes to pull down the ornaments. It makes for a much more relaxing time in the living room to not have to worry about the tree, plus there is more room.

On Christmas Eve we went to Mass and it was very nice, but cold. Gregory fell asleep halfway through the service. We went at 10 pm because Cullen had to work and wouldn’t make it home till 9. We got back home and got Gregory into PJs and put Lucy to bed too. Then Santa came and fixed up the living room.

The next morning Gregory woke up and came to our room. We asked him if Santa came and he went downstairs to check. We could hear him scream with excitement. Then he ran up saying Santa came Santa came.

I called my Dad to come over. We let Gregory open the Santa gifts, before my dad got here. Gregory asked Santa for a Buzz lightyear from toy story. Santa brought that and also filled the stockings. At our house Santa brings one big gift for each person and fills up the stockings.

Santa also brought two play tents with tubes to crawl through. Lucy and Gregory were having lots of fun with those.

I think Cullen’s favorite present was the two voice changers I got him. He played with those driving everyone crazy. It was so much fun though.

We all had a great time. It was relaxing. I am all for that. We had a very nice dinner too, ham and lots of fixings.

Lucy is on the verge of walking. She has been testing her way. I can’t believe it. Such a busy girl. I think she wants to get up and go like her brother.

Cullen’s brother and his family have come up to visit. His wife’s family also live up here. It has been nice to see them. Gregory also has enjoyed seeing his little cousin, Emma who is about 1 and a half. She is a cutie.

Wow has time flown I can’t believe that it is nearly 2010. That seems so crazy. As I am sure everyone knows I have been busy. I have been in a writing funk due to family problems. I cut my dad’s wife out of our lives permanently. Her personality was too toxic and I didn’t want to put my children in that situation or myself anymore. It has been for the best. That eliminated much drama. I do not need drama. That is why my blogging has been so limited lately.

Overall though, life is pretty good. I feel so blessed.
Here’s to making 2010 a great year full of Happiness.

Hey I got my niece a voice changer too! At least you had a good-sized tree. Our place is so tiny that we had to make do with 3 little table-top Christmas trees.

And I'm glad you were able to spring clean your life :-)
