The day before Gregory and I were going to come back from Idaho we went to visit my grandparents once more.
G G (Great Grandma), Grandma, Aunt Amanda, and Mommy were sitting at the table. Gregory was running around in the kitchen.
Grandma – “Gregory you better watch out” Grandma said this in a low scary voice.
Gregory – Gets scared and runs to the table. He grabs Mommy wraps his legs and arms around her so she can’t put him down.
Mommy – “Gregory is there a monster in there?”
Gregory – “Monster” he says in a frightened voice.
Gregory holds on for a few minutes.
Aunt Amanda – “Do you want to go look? I’ll go with you”
Gregory – Hesitates
Mommy – “Aunt Amanda will go with you”
Gregory – He gets up slowly and Grabs her hand.
Aunt Amanda – Walking in the kitchen. “Is there a monster? I don’t see a monster”
Gregory and Aunt Amanda – They are walking closer and closer to the other side of the kitchen. There is a sliding door on the other side that leads to upstairs.

All of the sudden the sliding door opens.

Gregory – “AHAAAA!!!” He runs strait back to Mommy.
Pa Pa (Great Grandpa) – Comes walking through the sliding glass door.
Gregory – “Monster!”
G G, Grandma, Aunt Amanda, and Mommy – Crack up laughing.
Pa Pa – He is wondering what is so funny.
Gregory – Realizes it is funny that he thought Pa Pa was a monster and laughs then runs around yelling monster.
Everyone – Laughs

In the car Gregory talks about what happened.

It was so funny because Pa Pa had no idea what was going on and the whole thing was not planned.

My wild side

This is a picture of Gregory, my sister Amanda, and Me with some lovely blue streaks in our hair. I also have some purple. I found some stuff called hair mascara at the mall in Idaho Falls. You brush it on your hair like mascara and it makes your hair look very colorful. It was so much fun.
One of these days I will get a big streak of purple in my hair. I don’t know if I want it anytime soon though.

It was so nice seeing my family in Idaho. It had been over a year. I think everyone was surprised how much Gregory had grown. He just talks nonstop.
Speaking of growing up, potty training is a very scary thing. The good thing is that he likes his underwear very much. But I am not in the mood to talk about the potty right now.
It is a wild and random post night.
And the wind is a blowin.
Yesterday -
We have umbrellas blocking sun from the tables outside my work. The wind swooshed so hard it picked up a few umbrellas out of a couple tables and sent them flying. If I was hanging on I would have been like Mary Poppins.
Yes you can picture me can’t you. I just wouldn’t be looking for a Nanny job. Having one two year old in my life is enough. I do believe the terrible twos are at hand. Yes and anyone who isn’t a mother would think I am doing a bad job because my son wants to run all over any store I am in and if I withstand his tries to escape my clutches he screams and kicks his feet like I am torturing him.
Yes he is my sweet little angel. He loves to help Mommy and he is the best kisser. Oh and he gives the best squeezey hugs.
The husband, I mean the wonderful great super guy I married, Cullen, has been awesome since I got back from Idaho. He has been buying groceries, cooking, cleaning, and treating me like a princess. It is quite amazing and wonderful. Ahhhhh… And you ask what have I been doing. I have been sleeping and resting (and taking care of Gregory). But for the most part I have gotten a break. Well I forgot the work thing, but that is a given. At work I have been crocheting and talking. I also have been doing the occasional massage.
I am making baby blankets.
I have two new nieces.
Cullen’s sister had a baby girl in May.
Cullen’s brother had a baby girl Yesterday.
Gregory has two cousins.
I am making baby blankets for both of them.
Families get bigger.
Babies I am glad I only have one.
I would have to say at the age of two Gregory counts as at least two kids if not ten. He has soooo much energy (that I don’t have). He is also very determined. I love him so much with all his speediness and stubbornness.

Well now as I mention all his energy I am out of mine. So Smiles!!!
Night!

We are back

The day we left Virginia the temperature was around 100. That night in Idaho it snowed. The weather change was quite something. A few days later it warmed up in Idaho. The trip was so great. It just flew by. It was a very relaxing trip though.
We went shopping at the mall. I found some stuff called hair mascara. I was able to put some purple and blue streaks in my hair. My hair is usually too dark for any color type stuff. Gregory and my sister, Amanda, joined in with a blue streak each.
We went to the Idaho Falls zoo too. Gregory got to pet some goats. We saw a show with several different animals in it and Gregory enjoyed touching the snake. I really like the zoo there, because you can get up so close to the animals.
We also went and played at the park. Gregory had so much fun running around making Grandma and Aunt Amanda tired.
My mom’s work picnic was during the week I was there so we went to that too. They had a bunch of big blow up toys. Gregory enjoyed those toys, but the toy that all the kids bounced in was a bit scary for him.
Gregory and I flew back home on June 17. I have been just so exhausted since then
Once I get my energy back I will write about more of my trip especially the time that was so funny I laughed for five minutes.
I am thinking about trying more vitamins.
Smiles!!!
Thinking of you all.

Lights out

It seems as I have had very little time lately. All I have been doing is working, playing with Gregory, and sleeping. This sleeping part has been crazy, because I have been falling asleep on the couch or in Gregory’s room and waking up around midnight only to realize that I am not in bed. I don’t know why I have been so tired. Maybe it is weather related.
Last night I was going to have some computer time, but then all the power went out. So, that idea was out. I had Gregory to bed and laundry in the washer and dryer. I had to rewash the ones in the washer this morning. The ones in the dryer I took out and hung on my drying rack and on hangers to dry last night.
With all the booming from the thunder and the rain pouring down so hard I was a bit scared. Not really for myself, but I was worried something would happen and the windows would break and…
So I took Gregory and put him in bed with me. He slept and I listened to the words of the storm. Holding Gregory made me feel safe and like I was protecting him.
We got our power back a few hours later. I think after midnight, but I am not sure because I was sleeping.
I don’t know why we are having all these storms. Virginia is a pretty safe place against storms, or at least where I live. I mean usually. It has made life a bit more interesting though. So, that is good right.

Well, I gotta go to work now.

Tuesday I leave to see my mom in Idaho, Yea!

An Awesome Day!

Saturday I went to WMZQ Fest. This was a country concert. I heard Sugarland, Phil Vassar, Tracy Byrd, and a few other country singers. I really enjoyed it. We got some free tickets from Cullen’s friend Shane. Thanks Shane!!!!
A few great moments –
- When Phil Vassar broke off into the song “The Piano Man”. He was playing the harmonica and all. I do love his songs, but I did quite enjoy him with that song. He has a great voice for it.
- When Sugarland had everyone come closer to the stage and rolled herself in a big ball out on top of her fans. Cullen actually touched the ball. I couldn’t reach it, but I was so close. Being so close to the stage got my heart pounding. I think that partly had to do with the beat of the music though. It was so awesome!
- After the concert was over Cullen and I were walking back to the car. Cullen said that a woman looked at me, looked at Cullen, looked back at me and my cane, and said “that’s awesome”.
I guess she thinks being blind is awesome.
I asked Cullen if he was sure she was talking about me and he said he was sure.
So, I guess it is awesome to be me especially when I get to go to an awesome concert.
