Well, Christmas was fun. On Christmas Eve Cullen and I put candy canes on the tree. Christmas morning I got Gregory up changed his diaper then let him walk out into the living room. Well, there were many gifts under the tree, but I can say that Gregory was more excited about the candy canes on the tree than the presents under the tree. It was so funny. Gregory really got into tearing up the wrapping paper. We got him some Weebles. Santa brought Gregory some keys with a car remote (of course fake). Gregory also got many other toys. Grandparents truly spoiled Gregory. I don’t know where to put all his toys. A one-year-old does not need all the toys he has now. I am glad we did not buy Gregory that much. Gregory does seem to enjoy his new toys though. Gregory also got some cute clothes. Oh back to the candy canes. Gregory took as many candy canes off the tree that he could get his hands on. I kept taking them out of his hands and one time I took five out of his hands. A few times I had to toss the candy canes in the garbage because he found broken ones and started sucking on them. Well, I wonder if he found them broken or he broke them himself. My big gift was an i-pod. Cullen got an x-box 360.
After opening presents at home we went to my dad’s house. We opened more presents and had a very good dinner. I was very spoiled this year. I don’t go back to school till next week. So, I have plenty of time to rest up and play with my new toys.

It’s Christmas Eve
It is Christmas Eve. It is amazing how quickly time flies. My life has changed so much. I would say my biggest change is my son Gregory. This has been my first full year with him in my life. I couldn’t have asked for a better blessing. Gregory is such a light in my life. I am not saying that it has been easy, but I can truly say that it has been well worth it to have him. I will say that on days that I am down and feel lousy Gregory always seems to do something to make me smile. Well, for instance yesterday I had a bad headache and I was lying down on the couch. Gregory was running around the house and putting all his toys in the living room, wrecking the Christmas tree, and moving the furniture around. Then all of the sudden I hear silence. Which alerts me to trouble in process. Well, my little trouble maker had climbed up on one of the chairs at the table and grabbed a candy cane and was sucking on it. If it had not been a choking hazard I would have let him have it, but in any case Gregory got mad at me for taking away the candy cane. But what made me smile was that he was sitting at the table like that was where he belonged. During the rampage of the house he knocked the angel off the tree. Oh and the other day when I was getting tired of putting the ornaments back on the tree, that Gregory took off the tree over and over again. Gregory clapped for me. Yes, I got applause for putting an ornament on the tree. I would say all that work was worth the applause. I would say all the work I do everyday for this little boy is worth it, because every smile, hug, kiss, giggle, and all of his happiness touches my heart in such a way that life has more meaning than it ever has before. God has blessed me.

Sleepy Cuddles
Cullen watches Gregory when I am at school. Cullen told me that he fell asleep on Gregory’s floor. When Cullen woke up Gregory was asleep with his head resting on his daddy’s arm. So when Cullen fell asleep I guess Gregory decided he would do the same and fall asleep next to his daddy. How sweet. I wish I was at home and had a camera.
Oh my poor little boy has just been crying tonight. It seemed like I couldn’t do anything. I am pretty sure tooth number 12 will be coming in soon.

An artificial delight
Well we got an artificial tree. I called it a fake tree in a previous post because I couldn’t remember the word artificial and everyone I talked to couldn’t think of the word either. Well anyway, we got an artificial tree. It looks very nice. The real trees are so expensive. Cullen and I decided we would use this tree until we eventually bought a bigger place. Then we will get a real tree. Right now I am worry free. The tree won’t die due to lack of water. The tree’s pine needles won’t stick my feet and hands. And best of all Cullen is happy with an artificial tree. Which is very important to me. Of course he would prefer a real tree, but just the same he is happy. I want my hubby to be happy, because it is Christmas time. It is the season to be happy and show people you care. I want my hubby to know I care.
Oh and this morning we showed Gregory the tree and he was a little scared of it. This evening things changed and he tried to take all the ornaments off the tree. I put them all back up. But I tell you this little boy will be great help when it is time to take everything down.
I haven’t gotten any pictures yet. I will post one soon.

Tooth number 11
Wow! Eleven teeth! What is happening? How do they come in so fast? My goodness! This tooth is on the bottom left. I will say I would be much crankier than Gregory if I had all these teeth coming in.

Toilet-papering houses
Well, Gregory toilet papered the wrong house. You should toilet paper people’s houses that you don’t live in and preferably people you don’t like. He toilet papered our house. It was so funny. Daddy left the bathroom door open and Gregory grabbed the toilet paper and pulled it out to the living room. It was everywhere. I couldn’t help but laugh.
At least he didn’t egg our house too.

Tooth Number 10
Wow ten teeth! They just keep coming in. Well this little guy is turning into quite the little man. Last night Gregory threw up and then threw up again this morning. I think he is feeling better. It is so hard to know what was causing him to be sick, but he is acting much better. I do not like my little one being sick. He has only had one cold and this is the first time ever that he threw up. Not including the baby spit up part, which he has not done in quite some time. Well, the little man is in bed and I now have diapers to stuff (I use cloth pocket diapers), clothes to fold, and a kitchen to clean. Oh yeah and blogs to read.
Oh and this tooth is another molar and it is on the top right of Gregory’s mouth.

No burnt cookies
Well, Saturday my stepsister and friend from college, Jackie, came over. We made cookies and watched Christmas movies. It was a blast. I enjoyed myself so much. Well our first batch of cookies turned out great. The second batch for some reason would not cook. We set the timer for 12 minutes and checked, not done. Then we set the timer for three more minutes, not done. Three more minutes and still not done. Finally we realized that the oven had gotten turned off, silly us. So instead of burning our cookies we under cook them.

Death or broken toes?
Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!
My toe still hurts. I hurt it back on November 12th. I think the stupid toe will hurt forever. While thinking about the pain I am still in I came up with a punishment to replace the death penalty. The person who would be sentenced to death would instead receive a punishment of broken toes once a month for the rest of their life. Yes I know it is a fate worse than death! LOL.

We don’t need a kitty
Well, I found out the other day that I don’t need a kitty to play with my yarn when I have Gregory. I found the yarn I was using to crochet all over the house. The culprit was Gregory and he had a huge grin on his face. Well, I have my yarn back in order and I have decided that I don’t need a kitty. If I ever get the urge to see a kitty playing with a ball of yarn I will get Gregory and hand him a ball of yarn.
Oh and for some scary news Gregory now has the ability to climb more than stairs. Today I found him standing on a folding chair at the computer desk. What am I going to do now?

Two minute memory
“No, no, no, don’t touch that. Gregory no!” says Mommy.
“Wahh” replied Gregory while throwing himself backwards.
2 minutes later

Well you get the point. I can’t wait for my son to have a memory that lasts longer than two minutes.

Granny Squares
I am crocheting again. I am working on a blanket. I am not sure about the pattern I want to use yet, but it will be made of granny squares. I am determined to make at least one granny square a day. To make a blanket I need a lot of squares so on days when I have more time I will try to make at least three. I will give this blanket away. It is a gift, but I won’t say for who in case they read this. So, I am going to watch Law and Order and crochet a couple of granny squares.
