A smile is a gift. So here is a gift for you. From a little boy who loves pretty much everything except for showers, but he loves baths. So that is even works out. He is a happy boy. He has his days where things don't go his way but for the most part every day is a good day.
So this smile is to make your day a good day!

How old is he?

Growing up is hard for Mommy

It is hard to let my baby grow up, but so exciting. I am afraid to let go of his hand sometimes, but I do anyway. He needs to walk on his own. He needs his independence. Even at age one he knows that he can do it, but he also knows if he falls down Mommy will be there to help him back up and love him. And love him I will.

My Blessing

Gregory's first birthday party

Gregory had a great birthday party this past Saturday. It was a lot of fun. Nana made him a truck birthday cake. It was blue with flames and a person hanging out the window. In the back of the truck there were fruit loops, yum. The party was fun. Gregory was a mess. After we sung happy birthday Gregory grabbed the truck and took some of the fruit loops. It was so sweet, the cake and my son. He had his own plate, which he licked clean. He quite enjoyed his cake and ice cream. There was a two month old little boy that came over and Nana’s nephew Noah who is six weeks older than Gregory. We brought Gregory’s little push truck that he can ride on or push. Well, Noah got on the truck and Gregory pushed him. I tell you it was so sweet. Gregory got some cool blocks and a train set up that makes sounds and some musical instruments. Lots of fun! Oh and of course some clothes too, a redskins long sleeve and legged onesie, and some overalls. He is so darling in everything. Well the whole day was great! I can’t believe my baby is turning into a little boy.

NO HAT!

Happy Birthday Baby!

Gregory turned one today! I can’t believe my baby is now a little boy. He sure has grown fast. He is two inches taller than he was at nine months and one pound heavier. Daddy turned his car seat around so now he is facing forward like the big people. To celebrate today Daddy gave Gregory some ice cream. Yummy, he loved it. We are having a little birthday party for him on Saturday at Grandpa and Nana’s. It will be fun.
I cannot believe I now have a one year old. This past year has brought so many wonderful things and I will always keep the moments close to my heart. Such as the cuddles, kisses, hugs, smiles, baby talk, lifting head, crawling, walking, new teeth, nursing, baths, diaper changes, spit up, poop, pee, dressing, disasters, and all the other special things that new motherhood has brought. I am so blessed to be Gregory’s mommy. Happy birthday my sweet little one.

A pain in the knees

Well my short-term memory must be in my knees, because yesterday I ended up running my knees into things I would say at least five times. I hit them hard. Oh it was painful. Then I did it again and again. Ouch. You ask how I did it again and again. I sort of forgot that there was a hard object in the way. Oh and every time I hit the same object, my very old very dead computer. It doesn’t work and so I was moving it so I could clean out a closet. It is painful to walk, but even more painful to go up and down stairs. Ouch!!! So, I better feel better by tomorrow, because I have to be on my feet for class. Well, off to take Tylenol, if I remember.

study study study

I have been so busy studying lately. Where has all the time gone? I just can’t believe how fast a day can fly by. I guess that is what happens when you are in school. Well, I finished the intro and now I am in the red module. On the second day of this module I had a test. I got all the answers correct although it was not a very hard test. Oh yeah and the test was multiple choice. This module is four weeks long and I have a total of five tests. I think that is crazy. Well, I guess they are making sure that we keep on studying. With a test a week a person has to study or they will fall behind quickly.
I still love massage school. Well not to say I enjoy all the reading or studying, but I love learning all the new information and techniques. I can definitely say I am headed down a path that I am happy with. Oh it is great!

I went to a potluck today and showed off Gregory’s new walking/running skills. Everybody was surprised how well he is walking. He is my little speedy one. Gregory was taking food off of other kids plates. I guess he figured that mama would not give it to him so he would get it on his own. Gregory amazes me every day with each new little thing. Lately when I feed him and he really likes it he will take a taste and raise his head up high and make a little noise and smile real big, like to say “I have never tasted anything quite so delicious”. He is the joy in my life. I am so glad that I have that little boy. He just brightens my day so much. When I am stressed out he helps to calm me down. When he is upset I help him and that also makes me feel good. As of now I can make all his woes better. I know that won’t last forever, but I will keep each little moment close to my heart. Mama can fix everything. Daddy is the next best though. Oh and it seems that there is much Daddy and Gregory bonding going on. Gregory wants his daddy more lately and Gregory seems more upset when Daddy leaves for work. That just makes me feel so good. I am so happy the bond between my son and husband is strengthening. I am so happy with my precious family.

One module down and seven to go

I finished the intro module today. My massage school uses modules to teach. There are a total of eight modules, Intro, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet. I start on the Red Module tomorrow. Oh and I passed my first test. Hurray for me. I am starting to get nervous. There is so much to learn about the body. You know all the bones, muscles, and how they work. Not only that but history of massage and different conditions that people may have. I have got plenty of studying to do. I can do it! I made it through four years of college. I guess I really have to tune in my memorization skills. Well, the laundry is calling ding-ding-ding.

Food makes football fun

Cullen is downstairs watching a football game. I watched up to halftime. Then I finished my chicken wings, so the game is not interesting anymore. I guess it could be but for me it was the chicken wings that made it interesting. Cullen bought some before he came home from work and baked them then he put barbecue sauce on them, yum. They were very good. They taste much better when you make your own. I may go back down after I get ready for bed. You know to cuddle with Cullen. I don’t think studying anymore tonight will help me, because when I get tired I don’t seem to retain very much of what I read. So, as I see it, what’s the point?

Gregory had a good day today. We went for a walk and we also went to the playground. Not the one behind the house but a very close one. He made a little friend. A little girl wanted Gregory to go down the slide again and again. Gregory can get up the stairs to the slide by himself, but he is a little too young to go down by himself so I would also go up the stairs and slide down with him. He is a very social child. He enjoys other children. It also seems like other children want him as a new friend. Once he gets more verbal skills. He will have lots of kids to talk to and I am sure plenty to say too. Oh and he pretty much walked the whole way to the park by himself. I carried him across the street though. He is just moving so fast anymore. Oh one problem is that he doesn’t understand the concept of a curb. He thinks that he can just walk and keep on going without stepping down. So, I have to grab him before he runs himself off the curb. I also have to pull him away from cars. He seems to be obsessed with parked cars. I don’t want him touching dirty cars. Gregory is just more fun every day. He has really got a personality.
Well, like I said I am going to go and change into pajamas and go back downstairs.

Chuck E. Cheese’s

We took Gregory for the first time tonight to Chuck E. Cheese’s. Jenn, Chris, Samantha, Stephanie, Dave, and Bradley joined us there. He had a lot of fun. I took Gregory up in the tubes and he crawled around. He also rode on some of those kids rides that move you know, the ones at some stores that you can put a quarter in and it would move back and fourth. Gregory was walking everywhere. It was very cool. Next time we go we are going to get some pizza. We ate a late lunch so we were still very full when we got there. Jenn and Chris got some pizza and Gregory ate a bunch of their pizza. We fed him earlier, but I guess he was still hungry. A woman who worked there gave Gregory a ball, which was very cool. Cullen had fun playing games with Chris and Dave. I think the men had more fun than the kids though. I guess they are boys at heart. I had a great time. I am hoping to go back soon.

My nose is stopped up, but I am happy

I am so tired and I am having sinus problems. I feel awful. On a good note, I love massage school. It is great, especially the hands on time. Today I got a full body massage and I gave a full body massage. I could not believe it, but I was sweating. It is hard work. I enjoy giving the massages though. I feel good when I am massaging someone. It actually relaxes me. I close my eyes and go. I feel connected. It is a good feeling. After a while of massaging my legs start shaking because I am not use to the way we stand when we give massages. I need to work on the muscles in my legs. Well, I am going to go have some tea and then try to fall asleep. I have lots of sleep and studying to catch up on this weekend.

Blowing Raspberries

It is so sweet when babies laugh, especially when it is your own child. Well, Cullen and I would pick up Gregory’s shirt and blow raspberries on his belly. He laughs and laughs. He will even start to laugh before you do it because he knows what is coming. Well, for some time he has been doing the same thing to me. He would pick up my shirt and blow raspberries on my belly. Daddy had not seen Gregory do this until last night. Of course I always laugh, but Daddy started laughing too. Gregory did it several times more because he was making us both laugh. It is amazing what children pick up.

Computer problems and nap time

Well, I am frustrated. The computer I am using is acting up. It is holding keys down by itself. For example when I push the F key it will think I am holding control F and the Find menu will come up. I just can’t win. Oh and the player for my schoolbooks should have come in, but it has not and I can’t do any of the reading. I feel a little stressed in that area. I have one more weekend before the first test though. So I will have a lot of reading and studying in a few short days. I went to college for four years, so I know I can do it, but I still don’t like to cram everything in at once. Mean time the Internet was down last night because of the terrible rain we had. I of course was thinking that it was not the Internet and instead it was my computer. Well, the Internet works today, so I had to apologize to my computer. I am not sure it forgave me though. We will see.

My little one is down for a nap. I love how bedtime and naptime are going now. First, I nurse him on my bed. Then I carry him into his room and I start his lullaby CD and rock him for one song. Then I lay him down in his crib. He stands up and yells at me for a second then sits down and falls over sideways, meanwhile mumbling. He continues squirming around, standing up, sitting down, falling sideways, and laying down. Until finally getting comfortable and falling asleep. This usually takes around ten minutes. I sit in the rocking chair until he falls asleep. If I leave before he is asleep he starts to cry. I don’t want my sweet little one to cry and on top of that putting him to bed goes so much faster if I just sit right next to the crib. So, he gets rest and I get computer/cleaning time. It is lovely isn’t it? Oh and when he wakes up he is so happy. Then we go back downstairs and play with trucks, blocks, books, and many other fun toys.
