Weekly Quote

Happiness consists not in having much but in being content with little.
~Countess of Blessington

I think that many Americans are unhappy because so many people want so much stuff and if they don’t get it they become unhappy. As long as a person has a place to live, food, and clothing they should be thankful and happy. Today if you don’t have the right car or that big screen TV people are unhappy.

Birthing Center Tour

Yesterday Cullen and I went on the Birthing Center tour. It made Cullen and I feel so much more comfortable. The hospital is great. Each room is private and seems very comfortable. They have a neonatal intensive care unit, which some hospitals do not have. We were very impressed. The woman who gave the tour said that on a busy day they had 8-12 babies. I like that the hospital is not so crowded. It makes me feel like my baby and I will get more attention. Yesterday there were only two babies. We got to see them in the nursery. How exciting! Cullen and I are looking forward to having our baby so much. I just want my baby to be healthy and weigh enough so that I can take my little one home with me after it is born. Oh, and for a normal birth they keep you in the hospital for 48 hours after the birth. The recovery room has a bed and a couch that turns into a bed, so Cullen can spend the night with me comfortably. We only have a little over two months left!
One more thing, Cullen and I were looking at pictures and he saw one of me before I was pregnant. He said “I don’t remember you being that skinny”. He did not mean anything by it but I thought it was funny. He said that it was hard to believe because I have been pregnant for so long, but I have only been pregnant for close to seven months. Smiles! I gotta love that man. I am so glad he is my husband.

Doctors Appointment

Today I had another doctor’s appointment. I found out I was pregnant! Just kidding I already knew that. It went well. I found out my glucose test was normal. Also, I am not anemic. Thank goodness for that. My baby is doing well, which is wonderful. From now on I go to the doctors every two weeks. There was one ouch part of my visit. I got a shot, because my RH factor is negative. The shot was not that painful though. Now I go along as normal, enjoy my pregnancy, try not to gain too much weight, but enough weight to be healthy, and be excited that I am having a baby.

Wrong Fish!

Well, my Dad just let me know the fish I caught were not lake trout, but Kokanee. So, let my record stand corrected. Thanks Dad.

Weekly Quote

The real art of conversation is not only to say the right thing in the right place but to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.
~Dorothy Neville

Boy is that hard to do sometimes.

Oh Yeah

Well, now that I have a second I can update everyone on what has happened.
First, my trip to Idaho went wonderful. I met my cousins Deanna, Michael, and Jessica. They are very cool. I enjoyed meeting them very much. They are three very happy people and I am glad they are part of my family. We did quite a bit while they were there.
They arrived on Father’s Day and everything started off great and got better. Oh and Deanna has great taste in clothes. She bought me some very pretty maternity dresses, tops, and bottoms. Oh my mom also picked me up some tops and a pair of shorts. So, I have plenty of clothes to hold me till I have my little baby. I look good!
We also went fishing and camping. I do not recommend camping for pregnant women. Boy did I ache the next morning, even though I used an air mattress. Well, it was fun anyway. I am thankful for running water. The one bathroom at the campsite stunk so bad! Us women used the men’s restroom, it smelled a little better.
Oh and the two days we fished at the camp site we did not catch a single fish! How depressing! That is ok though, I had fun.
Oh, but we went fishing the day before I left to come back to Virginia and I caught three fish, threw one back and kept two lake trout. It was quite lovely.
I had a lot of fun in Idaho spending time with my family. Oh and just so you guys know I do miss you.

My flight back was nice, but long. I was so happy to get off that plane and be back in Virginia. Cullen could not believe how big my belly had gotten in two weeks. He is so sweet. He is so excited about having our baby. When I was in Idaho he went to the hospital to see Chris and Jenn’s baby, Samantha. He was very excited to hold her. She is a sweet little thing I saw her the day after I got back.
Well, since I have been back I have been busy. I moved the book shelf out of the computer room and into our bedroom. Then I moved the guest bed out of the baby’s room and into the computer room, to make room for the crib. Meantime, I was cleaning the rest of the house catching up on laundry and hours of ironing.
Well, I did not just do work I also had fun. I have gone swimming almost every day I have been back with Cullen. We also have gone fishing. The other day we caught four little fish, all too small to keep. Cullen caught three and I caught one. Swimming and fishing will be our summer activities. It does make Cullen very happy and therefore makes me happy. I also do enjoy being outside. I am sure both of us will have great tans after this summer.
Well, you are probably tired of reading this long update of my life. So alas, I shall go and make more memories and things to report on. Smiles always, well except for the occasional tear.
