Oh Brrrr…

The pool is open! Cullen and I have a pool that is part of the complex that we live in. It doesn’t cost anything for us to go swimming but it is a couple of dollars for guests. So, we will be swimming all summer. The weather is 85 today so nice and warm, the pool water nice and too cold. Oh that water was freezing. It was nice for a little bit though. I ended up sitting on the edge of the pool most of the time, but I did get in for a little bit. Cullen dealt with the cold and swam. In between his rounds he would come and tell me how cold he was. It was enjoyable. Cullen said that he felt like he was on vacation. The pool has lifeguards which is good. When the weather gets a little warmer the pool will be very nice to go swimming in. I think it is an Olympic size pool or so I was told. They also have a little kiddy pool.
We were going to try out the pool yesterday, but it was cooler than today and we had plans with Jenn and Chris. We went out to a park and played miniature golf and had a nice picnic. On the first hole I got a hole in one! I could not believe it. I did much better than I thought I would. Well, I also had help with the positioning of my club, a little to the left, a little to the right (smile). It was very nice. When we got home Cullen went out like a light. He had been up since two in the morning, for work. I had a headache and no matter what I did I could not fall asleep. Finally, I got up at 12:30 and took a shower and some Tylenol. The combination of the two helped me fall asleep. What a pain.
Oh and I almost forgot this morning Cullen made a wonderful breakfast. We had waffles, hash browns, and eggs. It was very yummy!

A Fun Week

Well, this week has been fun so far. Cullen and I have been busy. Wednesday, Cullen’s day off, we went to see Star Wars. It was pretty good. I liked it much more than the first and second one. It was good, but not as good as number four, five, and six. Well, that is my opinion. We got a large Coke. It felt like a special date. I felt really special.
Then we came home and decided to go to Charlottesville. We drove down there to see Cullen’s friends. The drive did not seem as long as normal. I think because Cullen and I have been getting along so well lately. The visit with Cullen’s friends was fun. Cullen played a board game with his friends and I ended up watching a show called Blind Justice. It is about a guy who went blind. After about a year he went back to his job as a detective. He ends up solving cases using his brain and senses, with problems along the way based on people not believing he can do his job. Well, anyway around midnight we headed home and got home around 2 am.
Cullen’s schedule has also been crazy. Yesterday he worked at four in the morning, this morning he worked at four, and tomorrow he will have to work at three. It is messing with Cullen’s sleep, poor Cullen.
The pool in our neighborhood also opened up today. We will probably take a swim tomorrow, because it will be around 80 degrees, nice and warm.
Well, life is good. Life is fun. I already did the dishes so life is also relaxing for the rest of the day. Smiles!!!

Never be afraid to sit awhile and think.

Daydreaming should be one of life’s great pleasures, not to be rushed through, or taken to the extreme. At least a couple of minutes a day should be used for a good daydream.
Also, taking the time to think about something may prevent a disaster from happening.

Ultrasound and the Creative Club

Today has been a little busy. At 8:30 this morning I had an ultrasound. I was a little tired, but everything seemed to go well. I got a couple of pictures that I will put up as soon as I get them formatted. HOG weighs around a pound and HOG’s heartbeat was 163 beats per minute. My sweet little one looked lovely. Cullen gets so excited when he sees our baby. It makes him happy and that is well worth an ultrasound. I don’t get as excited because I can’t see the screen, but that is ok. I have a doctor appointment on June 9th and Dr Warner should be able to explain the ultrasound a little more to me. I am a worry wart.
HOG is also kicking so much lately it is very cool just to be able to feel the kicking and know that it is from my baby. Oh and the technician said from the measurements the baby should be born on the 25th of September. So, now we have three due dates: September 26, 22, and 25. They are all within four days so I am not worried. HOG will come when HOG is good and ready.

I also went to the Creative Club today. I had some fun. We decorated little stools. I got a heart one. I painted it yellow and put scratch offs of bears on it. It turned out to be very cute. I enjoy the girl time. It also gives Cullen some time to be by himself at home. So, it all works out.

I LOVE MY BABY!

Baby News

Today has been going well. I had a doctor appointment. The baby is doing well. The heartbeat is around 140 beats per minute. I have gained a total of 13 pounds. Which I guess isn’t too bad. Well, that is the good news and here is some more good news.
Cullen felt the baby kick for the first time today. He put his head on my belly and felt HOG kick. Now how cool is that. I have been able to feel the baby kick for about a month, but it took me a while to realize that I was feeling the baby. It is a very cool feeling. Now this has been a good day!

Experience is what you get looking for something else.
~Mary Pettibone Poole

Everyone has to start from somewhere and that somewhere may not be their dream job. I know all the experience I have had was not with my dream job. Just the same it looks good on my resume. You know something else, the experience I am getting being pregnant will help me when I have my little one in my arms, because I have to take such good care of myself now. It is giving me practice so I can take good care of HOG.

First Anniversary Vacation

Cullen and I went to Virginia Beach for our first anniversary. It was so much fun! We left on Thursday and got back today.
Thursday Cullen and I left around ten in the morning and got there around one. We stayed at Sleep Inn. Check in was at three pm but they let us check in when we got there. I thought that was great. We hung out and watched TV. Then we went swimming. They had an indoor/outdoor pool. It was very nice and relaxing. Then we drove down to the beach and walked around. It was very cool outside. But the beach looked great and it was nice to just walk on the sand. We ate at a nice little restaurant called Doughboy Pizza. We had Buffalo wings and cheeseburger pizza. Overall, Thursday was a great start to our vacation.
Friday went well too. It was mall time. We went to the mall. It had three stories. It was very cool. There was a fountain that had water jumping around the edges. It reminded me of a frog. I don’t know why but I thought of a frog watching the water. We were in the mall for seven hours. Wow, where did the time go. We also saw the movie “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”. It was pretty good. The movie was very science-fiction, so if you don’t like those kinds of movies you probably won’t like this movie. I am reading the book now and so far it is very similar. Well, after that we went back to the hotel and went swimming.
Saturday Cullen and I got burnt. We ate breakfast and then headed to the beach. I was going to put sun block on but Cullen said we could come back to the car. We did not and that is how we got burnt. Oh we had lots of fun though. We played at the waters edge. Cullen’s and my shorts got wet in the water; we would not have had fun if we had not gotten wet. We had some ice cream to cool off. After the lovely ice cream we looked around at some stores. The walk was nice. The weather was great. After all that walking we were hungry. Cullen had been bugging me for seafood. So we found a nice all you can eat seafood restaurant. Cullen was very happy after that meal. He had his crab legs. Ready for a swim in the pool we headed back to the hotel.
Sunday was our first anniversary. We had plans to go deep sea fishing. We woke up at six in the morning to eat and get ready for the boat trip. The boat took off at eight. We road for about one hour and thirty minutes into the ocean. Poor Cullen got sick. I was surprised I caught three fish. We kept two. The third was too small. I threw that one back in the water. Cullen didn’t catch anything but my fishing line. Oh the boat ride was fun and fishing was great! I wish Cullen could have enjoyed himself more. When we got back to the shore we paid some people to clean our fish. Across the street there was a restaurant that would cook your fish for you. So we took the fish there and they cooked it. We had my Black Sea Bass with French fries and peas. I must say I catch a good fish. Then, guess what! We went back to the hotel and went swimming. Oh and we brought along the top layer of our wedding cake. Cullen and I both had a bite. Boy I tell you cake is not very good after a year! But we had some just the same.
This morning we packed our stuff up and drove back home. It was a lovely vacation and a wonderful anniversary. So, there is your quick overview of our vacation.

Happy Mother’s Day

It is Mother’s Day. Last night Cullen came home late. He got home after midnight so really it was today (think about it, it makes sense). He said he had talked with HOG and they had decided to get me some flowers. The flowers were red carnations. It was a very lovely surprise.
My dad and Kathy also sent me a Mother’s Day card and a soft little blanket. It was a very nice surprise. Thank you guys.

I want to say happy Mother’s Day to many people including:
My mom, Cullen’s mom, Kathy, Grandma W, Grandma F, Grandma B, Grandma S, Deanna, Jenn, Stephanie, Jenn’s two moms, and all the other wonderful moms that I don’t have the rest of my day to think of and write down.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!

Fun Stuff

Mother’s Day is on Sunday. I got a card in the mail from Deanna for Mother’s Day. It was very sweet of her. It made me smile. When I get things like that it feels more real that I am going to have a baby. I know I am going to have a baby, but it also feels unreal. It is amazing that I can create a baby, of course with the help of Cullen and God. Life is good.
Overall, I have been feeling pretty good. I have been having allergy problems, but most of the morning sickness is gone and I have not been as tired. So, I’m feeling pretty good. It is wonderful, considering Cullen and I are going on vacation to Virginia Beach for our anniversary. It will be a lot of fun. Well, I am going to go and get some things done before Cullen gets home. He is off by 2pm today and I am happy! We will probably go play at the playground. Fun, Fun, Fun!!!

Weekly Quote

Guess who was lazy last week. You are right it was me. I did not put up a weekly quote. That is ok though because I will put up two this week.

Weekly Quote (Last Week)

Real confidence comes from knowing and accepting yourself - your strengths and your limitations – in contrast to depending on affirmation from others.
~Judith M. Bardwick

Some days I have real confidence and some days I do not. I believe that everyone has days they need someone to let them know they are doing alright.

Weekly Quote (This Week)

I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something. I will not refuse to do something I can do.
