Broken Vacuum

Yesterday I took down the Christmas tree. After I took it down I wanted to vacuum up the mess. Well, a branch went up in the vacuum and clogged it and broke the belt. I did not know what was wrong. I tried to fix the vacuum and in the process made more of a mess while taking apart pieces of the vacuum that could have been left together. In other words making more of a mess out of the whole situation than it actually was. So, I wasted nearly four hours trying to fix the vacuum.
Cullen came home from work pulled out the Christmas tree branch stuck in the vacuum tube and told me we needed to go to the store to buy a new belt. Well, Cullen saved the day and the living room. The vacuum now works and our living room is for the most part pine needle free, with the exception of those needles that like to hide.
When Cullen and I were packing up the old apartment we found pine needles left from the previous Christmas nine months before and it is not like we didn’t clean our apartment. We cleaned our old apartment after we got rid of the tree last year, but those pesky needles just STUCK around (do you like my little pun, get it stuck, ouch!).
Well, today has been pretty good. Cullen and I sung some karaoke this morning before he left for work. Tonight we will probably play some games. I plan to do some cleaning and work on the blanket I am crocheting for Cullen’s mom. Oh, and of course I will listen to a book on tape.
